Below is another image of the dapple grey showing it's size as compared to my salt and pepper shakers.
Dapple grey horses are favored in many disciplines; their unique and catching coat color makes them stand out from the competition. How common are dapple grey horses? Why does their coat color look like this?
Dapple grey horses have a mixture of black and white hair which varies from horse to horse. This coloring is found in Andalusians, Percherons, Thoroughbreds, Lippizans, Connemaras, and Welsh Ponies. Interestingly, the dapple grey horse's coat changes color throughout it's life. Clint Eastwood rode a dapple grey Andalusian in quite a few of his movies such as Pale Rider and High Plains Drifter.
